This device will not work with Windows 7 and the online 'help' I get goes in useless circles. A waste of money and I won't be buying iomega again.

used this drive for storage of itunes music and video, as well as pdf documents. used on a daily basis. i had to get FOUR REPLACEMENTS from iomega because these drives keep burning out. after a while i started getting this message "the usb device may work better if connected to a usb 2.0 port" which are the only ones on my computer and it is definitely connected. the drive then proceeds to work at a snails pace, if at all. sometimes it will just tell me the device has malfunctioned and cannot be recognized. in short, these drives are not good for anything long term or when frequently used.

...But don't rely on the "USB powered" feature - despite it having a double-headed USB cable allowing it to draw power from 2 USB ports at once, it is not 100% happy with just USB. It will certainly hang together long enough to do a backup, but if you leave it plugged in, after a few hours it will start to whinge about "Delayed write fail" as the system routinely ticks stuff off in the System Volume Information on the drive.
Also. the URL link supplied with the unit to download backup software is out of date - there is different, newer software to be had, but it is pretty fragile - it stops dead as soon as it hits a system file in Windows, for instance - plus it wants to sit in the background backing up everything you change all the time, which brings up the above mentioned "Delayed Write Fail" eventually.
In summary: If you are after a small, cheap drive which will back up your stuff, this thing works fine - but use your own backup software, and don't leave it plugged in 24/7 unless you have a handy 5V external PSU to hand (there is a socket for such a thing, indicating that even Iomega don't fully trust the USB power either).
